How to keep our kitten away from the christmas tree?

I have 2 cats. When they were younger this was a big problem. One of my cats would climb the tree and then lay in the branches. While this was cute our tree sure did suffer. Finally someone told me to get a spray bottle with water and spritz them when they even looked at it. It really did help. After a few days I didnt even have to get the bottle. I would just make a psst noise and they were gone like a light. I would recommend to you not to put your very breakable ornaments up this year. So many of mine were broken in the kitten days.
