What can i do to help my child read syllables?

I have a 4 year old son who is now going to school for almost a year now as kinder. All of his clmates can read consonant-vowel-consonant-consonant words but my son cannot even join consonant and vowel together. He already knows the phonics but he don't get the concept of joining the sounds. I've been looking online for videos that can help me but no luck. Please help me. Thank you.
